Yesterday afternoon, a meeting was held in Beledweyne, the capital of Hiran region, to discuss accelerating the fight against Al-Shabaab and how to liberate their areas in Hiran.<\/p>\n

The meeting was attended by officials from the Hiran regional administration, Somali military officers, the leader of the Somali National Army and officers from the Ethiopian and Djiboutian forces that are part of the AUSSOM operation.<\/p>\n

All the officials and military officers who attended the meeting agreed that the fight against Al-Shabaab in Hiran region should be accelerated.<\/p>\n

The leader of the Somali National Army, Ali Jeyte Osman, who spoke at the meeting, said that it is impossible to stop the fight against Al-Shabaab that has been going on for the past few years.<\/p>\n

“What did we do wrong? Did a miracle happen to us? We know each other. We are stronger than the enemy. Did we not break or were we defeated by an attack? An attack can be defeated, but if we are all defeated, it is a defeat. This afternoon, let us declare war to re-strengthen and enter, and capture the enemy’s stronghold,” said Leader Ali Jeyte Osman.<\/p>\n

Officers of the AUSSOM forces operating in Hiran from Djibouti and Ethiopia have promised strong support to strengthen the fight against Al-Shabaab.<\/p>\n

The meeting is finally coming to an end, as the military and local forces have recently withdrawn from areas and districts in the Hiran region that are currently under the control of Al-Shabaab militants.<\/p>\n
