MP Abdi Ladif Muse Nur (Sanyare), a member of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, has confirmed that a motion of no confidence is being prepared against the Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamsa Abdi Barre.<\/p>\n

The MP said that the motion is scheduled to be presented to the House of the People on Saturday, August 23, 2025, God willing.<\/p>\n

According to him, the motion has already been signed by 120 MPs, while only 20 signatures are now required for the motion to be officially presented to Parliament.<\/p>\n

MP Sanyare noted that any MP who wants to join the motion or “worship” it as he put it, can contact him directly.<\/p>\n

“The motion of no confidence in the Hamse Abdi Bare government, which will be presented on Saturday, August 23, God willing, has been signed by 120 MPs. We still have 20 MPs left. Any MP who wants to vote should contact me,” Sanyare said in his statement.<\/p>\n

Although he did not directly state the official reason for the motion, reports related to this matter indicate that there are political concerns and disagreements within the House of the People regarding the government’s governance and the performance of the Prime Minister.<\/p>\n

In the political situation of the country, such motions have occurred in Somalia before, and are part of the country’s parliamentary democracy.<\/p>\n

However, any motion submitted goes through legal procedures set out in the interim constitution of Somalia and the bylaws of the House of the People.<\/p>\n
