The governments of Somalia and Djibouti today officially signed an agreement in Djibouti to increase the number of Djiboutian troops stationed inside Somalia.<\/p>\n

The agreement was signed by the Somali Minister of Defense, Ahmed Moalin Fiqi, and the Acting Minister of Defense of Djibouti, Ali Hassan Bahdoon, in the presence of senior officials from Somalia and Djibouti.<\/p>\n

“This agreement guides the increase in the number of Djiboutian troops to further strengthen the ongoing operation inside Somalia, in accordance with the principles and priorities previously agreed upon by both parties. It also defines the procedures for intervention, the responsibilities of both parties and the cooperation mechanisms between the two forces, based on a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect,” a press release from the Somali government said.<\/p>\n

The agreement was also described as part of a shared vision of regional stability and the commitment of the Djiboutian government to support peace and security in Somalia.<\/p>\n

In conclusion, the Djibouti government is one of the governments that greatly supports Somalia in the areas of security and development, and its troops are among the peacekeepers in Somalia under the African Union Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM).<\/p>\n
