The Federal Government of Somalia has announced that it has purchased two Airbus A320 aircraft, which will operate under the name of Somali Airlines.<\/p>\n

These aircraft will officially enter service within two months after 33 years, according to the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mohamed Farah Nuuh, who told the media that the contract for the purchase of these aircraft was signed today at the Office of the Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamse Abdi Barre.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, we have started a sales agreement with a company called Lima Air Group, and we have sold them two Airbus A320 aircraft. These companies will operate for a period of two months, and the agreement was concluded today in Mogadishu, at the Prime Minister\u2019s office,\u201d said the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Mohamed Farah Nuuh.<\/p>\n

Minister Nuuh indicated that the agreement signed today has been in the works for a long time, and is the beginning of a plan by the Somali government to purchase modern passenger aircraft to develop Somali Airlines.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe government\u2019s decision is a start. We will sell the planes and then two to three more. We want Somali Airlines to compete with international services in a short period of time,\u201d said Somali Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Farah Nuuh.<\/p>\n

Finally, the re-launch of Somali Airlines after more than thirty years is a great achievement for the Somali government and people.<\/p>\n
