The Independent National Electoral and Boundaries Commission (INCB) today officially launched the voter registration campaign in parts of the country, including the Hirshabelle State.<\/p>\n

The event held in Jowhar town was attended by the President of Hirshabelle State, Ali Abdullahi Hussein (Guudlaawe), senior members of the INCB, and other regional officials.<\/p>\n

The launch is part of the INCB\u2019s efforts to implement a free, fair, and equitable electoral process, with registration being the first step for citizens to participate in the upcoming elections in the country.<\/p>\n

In his speech, Hirshabelle President Ali Guudlaawe stressed the importance of public participation in this campaign. He called on all Hirshabelle citizens to actively register to exercise their right to vote and fulfill their civic duties, and he became the first official to receive a voting card.<\/p>\n

The voter registration campaign has already been launched in the South West and Galmudug regional states, where voter registration is underway.<\/p>\n

The National Electoral Commission said that registration will be conducted in a phased manner in all the state governments of the country, to ensure a wide participation of Somali citizens.<\/p>\n
