The Prime Minister of the Government of Somalia, Hamsa Abdi Barre, said that the government leaders are not ready for the country to hold another indirect election.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the Hamar Local Government Center, where he attended a gala dinner honoring the delegates who participated in the National Consultative Forum, he announced that it is not possible for Somalia to return to indirect elections and return power to the Somali people.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister indicated that his government encourages the recommendations for the elections submitted by the Somali people who gathered at the forum, and the role they are playing in the democratic process, especially the process of building a Somali state that comes from the will of the people.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Hamsa also stressed the need for unity and solidarity to overcome the indirect life that is causing problems in security, elections, the economy and ensuring the great achievements that need to be achieved by the nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to move towards a unified system that brings all Somalis together, if we move beyond the passive life, we will overcome the disunity of conflicts and other problems in our country,\u201d the Prime Minister said.<\/p>\n

The Somali government is still insisting on a one-person, one-vote electoral system, while the opposition says that a consensus-based electoral system is needed.<\/p>\n
