<\/p>\nThe four-day National Consultation Conference, which was opened by Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Monday, concluded today in Mogadishu. It was attended by government leaders, politicians, and political organizations registered with the Electoral Commission.<\/p>\n
The conference focused on several issues, the first of which was the unity and reconciliation of the country, security and the completion of the Constitution, the fight against Al-Shabaab, and electoral issues.<\/p>\n
According to the communiqu\u00e9 issued at the conference, one of the most important points was to resume talks between Somalia and Somaliland and to unite against any attempt to divide the country.<\/p>\n
The leaders who participated in the conference also agreed to continue the fight against Al-Shabaab and ISIS, while supporting government forces and local forces known as the Maawisleyda, as mentioned in the communiqu\u00e9 issued at the conference.<\/p>\n
The statement stated that the completion of the Constitution is a national obligation and priority, and the panel recommended that negotiations be held to finalize the agreements and regulations that are the foundation of the federalization of the country and the Constitution.<\/p>\n
The panel also agreed that free elections should not be postponed, following the example of the Somaliland and Puntland administrations, and the leaders who participated in the panel encouraged the continuation of negotiations to reach a comprehensive and inclusive agreement between the two levels of state governments and between the Parliament and the President.<\/p>\n
Finally, the Warmurtiyedka noted that the platform set out by the president will remain open and that politicians who have not yet been elected will respond in order to complete the process of dialogue to finalize national agendas and make them Somali-led and free from foreign interference.<\/p>\n
