The Federal Government of Somalia has reacted swiftly to the US government\u2019s decision to ban Somali citizens from traveling to the country, expressing its desire to resolve the issue diplomatically.<\/p>\n

The Somali Ambassador to the US, Ambassador Dahir Hassan Abdi, said that the Somali government is ready to work with the US government to understand and resolve security concerns.<\/p>\n

\u201cSomalia greatly values \u200b\u200bits historic relationship with the United States, and is ready for constructive dialogue to address the concerns raised,\u201d the ambassador said.<\/p>\n

The new travel restrictions for Somali citizens will particularly affect students, refugees, and people seeking to reunite with their families in the US. Human rights groups have strongly condemned the ban, calling it racist and damaging to diplomatic relations and humanitarian efforts.<\/p>\n
