The United States has announced a reward of up to $10 million for information leading to the capture of Abdullahi Banati, the man responsible for the January 5, 2020, attack on a joint U.S.-Kenyan military base in Manda Bay, Kenya.<\/p>\n

The attack, claimed by the Al-Shabaab group, left three U.S. soldiers dead and one Kenyan soldier wounded.<\/p>\n

The Manda Bay base, part of the Kenya Defence Forces, is used jointly by U.S. forces to conduct training, support, and emergency operations to address threats in East Africa.<\/p>\n

The Justice Program, a branch of the U.S. Department of State\u2019s Security Service, said the reward is intended to encourage information that leads to justice. It also promises resettlement and full security protection for the person providing the information.<\/p>\n

The move is part of the United States\u2019 ongoing efforts to track down individuals who pose a threat to the security of the nation and its international allies.<\/p>\n

The US government has called on anyone with information related to the Manda Bay attack to contact the Rewards for Justice program confidentially, with the assurance that their information will be fully protected.<\/p>\n
