Members of the Somali Parliament who met in Mogadishu said they are moving a motion against the Speaker of the House of the People, Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur Madoobe, accusing him of failing to convene the sixth session of the House of the People.<\/p>\n

The members accused the Speaker of the House of the People of violating the country\u2019s Constitution and the bylaws of the House, and pointed out that although the sixth session has been open for three months, there is no reason for the members to meet for any session.<\/p>\n

The members who met in Mogadishu also stated that the House of the People is closed to Sheikh Aden Madoobe after he learned that there were activities being carried out against him, which led to him not opening the sessions of the House of the People at all.<\/p>\n

Member of Parliament Saadaq Abdullahi, one of the members who attended the meeting and shared with the media the points they made from their meeting, said that they have a complete and legal motion and brought more than 100 members in accordance with Article 65, paragraph 4 of the Transitional Constitution.<\/p>\n

He indicated that they are proposing to the Speaker of the House of Representatives to reconvene the House as soon as possible so that the members of the House of Representatives can carry out their national duties, as they have not done any work for more than 2 weeks.<\/p>\n
