More news is emerging about the heavy bombardment that Al-Shabaab carried out early this morning in the Sabiib and Canoole areas of Lower Shabelle region.<\/p>\n

Al-Shabaab targeted government forces positions in the Sabiib and Canoole areas under Afgooye district, and a fierce battle ensued between the two sides.<\/p>\n

Sources in the Sabiib and Canoole areas told the media that there was a heavy battle between the Somali National Army and the Al-Shabaab who attacked, and both sides used different types of weapons.<\/p>\n

The battle that began with the bombardment is also reported to have caused casualties, including deaths and injuries, although the total number of casualties is not yet officially known.<\/p>\n

The latest reports indicate that the situation in the Sabiib and Canoole areas is currently calm, and the Somali National Army is in its positions in the area, and there is no news from the government regarding the attack that took place this morning in that area and the resulting losses.<\/p>\n
