Reports from the Middle Shabelle region indicate that heavy fighting is currently underway in the Laba Garas area, one of the areas under the Adale district of the Middle Shabelle region.<\/p>\n

The fighting is between the Somali National Army and local forces on one side and Al-Shabaab militants.<\/p>\n

The fighting came after the allied forces attacked a group position in the Laba Garas area, and it is reported that the fighting is intense and that both sides are using different types of weapons.<\/p>\n

The official casualties from the fighting are not yet known, and reports also indicate that the fighting is accompanied by heavy shelling that can be heard from far away from where the fighting is taking place, which is hitting Al-Shabaab militants.<\/p>\n

However, in the Middle Shabelle region, there has been a recent round of fighting against Al-Shabaab in the region, and it is worth noting that the group has been dealt a heavy defeat in this round.<\/p>\n
