Former Somali Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdoon has praised the Federal Government of Somalia for lifting the flight ban on the city of Baardheere in Gedo region, which had been under a flight ban for months due to the conflict between the government and Jubaland.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Shirdoon stated that the government is expected to lift other restrictions on other cities in the Jubaland region as soon as possible, as they are facing serious problems with flight issues for civilians.<\/p>\n

“I welcome the decision by the Federal Government to lift the flight ban on the city of Baardheere. It is a step in the right direction,” said Abdi Farah Shirdoon.<\/p>\n

He posted this statement on his X account and added, “Also, I once again call on the Federal Government to immediately allow flights to other cities in Jubaland. The imposition of a ban on part of the country in the future should be avoided”.<\/p>\n

He recently revealed that such restrictions are contrary to the Constitution and have had a negative impact on the lives of citizens and business activities, especially patients in need of urgent medical care, business people and students traveling for education.<\/p>\n

A few days ago, the Somali Civil Aviation Authority assured the Somali public that there are no flight restrictions at Baardheere Airport and that flights are operating normally.<\/p>\n
