More reports are coming out of a fierce battle that took place in the early morning in the town of Masagawa in the Galgaduud region, which was between the forces of the country with the help of the local people and Al-Shabaab.<\/p>\n

The fight came after Al-Shabaab launched an attack with a vehicle filled with explosives in the city, and a direct fight ensued between the two sides.<\/p>\n

It is not yet officially known the extent of the damage caused by the war, which is reported to be very heavy, and the preliminary reports that are coming out say that there are deaths and injuries caused by the war and the explosion that preceded it.<\/p>\n

The federal government said in a brief statement that the joint forces foiled an ambush by Al-Shabaab in Masagawa.<\/p>\n

“The heroes of the Somali National Army and the Defense Forces in Masagaway City in Galgaduud Region failed in an ambush by insurgents and were hit with hot blows,” said the statement issued by the government.<\/p>\n

There is no communication in the city of Masagawa and other areas below, which makes it more difficult to find independent information that can confirm the damage caused by the explosion and the war that followed.<\/p>\n
