There is a sense of tension in the city of Galkayo, the capital of Mudug region, after last night there was a shootout between militiamen from two communities that fought in the West of Mudug.<\/p>\n

According to reports, the shooting that took place in the neighborhood of Jashar resulted in casualties including death and injuries. Troops from the administrations of both sides managed to quell the tension.<\/p>\n

Efforts are being made to prevent the crisis in the west of Mudug from affecting the city of Galkayo. In order to prevent the conflict, the Isimada of Mudug region of Puntland issued a call for peace in the conflict between the Lelkase and Saad clans that are fighting in the west of Mudug region.<\/p>\n

Isimada called on the warring clans to resolve their differences through dialogue, compromise and self-satisfaction. Isimadu expressed full support to the elders and intellectuals of both sides in their efforts for peace. They recommended that peace decisions be accepted unconditionally.<\/p>\n

They also praised the efforts of the Puntland and Galmudug administrations in controlling the past and current wars. Isimada encouraged the two administrations to show their responsibility for peace and strengthen it.<\/p>\n
