The Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation of the Government of Somalia, Mohamed Abdi Khair Maareye, today spoke about the great controversy caused by the fact that the Puntland administration has only two tractors from the Somalia Crisis Recovery Project (SCRP) funded by the World Bank.<\/p>\n

The minister revealed and explained the way Puntland got the two tractors, he said in his writing, “According to the letter of the 6 tractors that all Somalis had, Puntland was given 2 tractors, as well as the FSRP project. Of the 20 tractors purchased from other regional administrations, DFS has given Puntland $16 million considering the current political situation and caring for the government’s people and poor farmers. resident of Puntland.”<\/p>\n

The statement of the Minister came on the same day when there was an outcry in Puntland, but the Minister of Management said that they will not take the blame and indicated that the accusation made against the Ministry is far from the truth, and expressed doubts about the possibility that the money intended for Puntland Farmers to sell Tractors that are otherwise used.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation of Puntland has said that it was not informed before, and there was no monitoring of the purchase and the process of the two (2) tractors for the farmers of Iskushuban District, which is one of the Puntland areas.<\/p>\n

The statement issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation of Puntland indicated that it is unfortunate that the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation DFS did not share any information related to the SCRP project with the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation of Puntland of the World Bank.
