The Jubaland Electoral Committee today held a meeting with the elders of the Jubaland clans, who have a role in the selection of members of parliament who will represent the Jubaland regional government.<\/p>\n

This meeting was one where the parties discussed the issues leading to the Jubaland Election, which is primarily the selection of the Members of Parliament.<\/p>\n

Chairman of the Jubaland Elections Committee, Dr. Mursal Siyad Mohamed said that as a committee, when we prepared to hold the Jubaland elections, he explained the process and schedule of the elections in Jubaland to the elders and the leaders of the conference.<\/p>\n

Dr. Mursal added that the committee has so far held fruitful meetings with the cultural elders and intellectuals of Jubaland to ensure that each community chooses its representatives according to the distribution of power.<\/p>\n

He also stressed the importance of the cooperation of all parties to implement the electoral process that will serve the interest of the people and the government of Jubaland.<\/p>\n
