There are reports that the leaders of the National Consultative Council, which met on the third day in Mogadishu, are in disagreement on the process of approaching the future elections.<\/p>\n

The leaders are reported to be at odds with each other on the issues of the elections, especially the ongoing plan to implement the electoral system of person and vote in the country within four months, according to reliable reports.<\/p>\n

The leaders of the federal government have presented to the regional governments that the election system is important, and to strengthen the fledgling democratic institutions in Somalia, in order to achieve inclusive public administration.<\/p>\n

The reports add that the president of the Jubbaland state, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, Ahmed Madobe said that the issue of the election is based on bringing the president of the Puntland state, Saeed Abdullahi Deni, to the forum.<\/p>\n

One of the things that were also discussed at the meeting was the use of the name of the president of the states to be changed to the governor, and it was pointed out that some of the heads of the states are opposed to this.<\/p>\n

“The federal government is very concerned that some states are planning to hold closed elections, similar to the previous ones, to manipulate the results,” the source said.<\/p>\n

However, the opposition groups led by the National Mission Party strongly opposed any attempt to extend the tenure of the country’s regional leaders.<\/p>\n

The conference entered its third day and some of the points are missing and I am not part of the Puntland administration which has declared that it is not relevant to the decisions that will come out of the meeting.<\/p>\n
