The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia has strongly condemned the attack in Khartoum that targeted the residence of the United Arab Emirates ambassador in Sudan.<\/p>\n

The Ministry described this attack as a violation of international law, and suggested that there is a need to preserve the sanctity of the embassies.<\/p>\n

Somalia has also stressed the importance of giving embassy facilities full security, as stipulated in the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged all countries to respect international law to protect the security and sanctity of diplomatic relations.<\/p>\n

The United Arab Emirates said that on Monday the residence of its ambassador in Khartoum was attacked by a military plane belonging to the Sudanese forces, describing it as a very ugly attack.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UAE said in a statement that the attack on the ambassador’s house caused severe damage to the building.<\/p>\n

The Sudanese army has repeatedly accused the UAE of providing arms and support to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) as part of the Sudanese war that has been going on for 17 months. The Gulf government has denied the allegations.<\/p>\n

Sanctions monitors have described as credible allegations that the UAE has provided military support to the RSF.<\/p>\n
