The Financial Intelligence Agency of Turkey (MASAK) and the Financial Reporting Center of the Federal Government of Somalia signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation between the financial intelligence agencies of the two countries in Ankara, Turkey.<\/p>\n

The agreement between the two organizations of Somalia and Turkey is said to strengthen the relationship and cooperation between the two governments.<\/p>\n

The memorandum of understanding between the financial intelligence agencies of the two countries has been described as important for both parties to cooperate in preventing financial crimes, money laundering and combating the funding of terrorist groups.<\/p>\n

“Financial intelligence units of the two countries will cooperate in accordance with the laws against money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism in their countries, in collecting, developing, analyzing information and data related to financial crimes that occur in two countries, as well as in both countries.<\/p>\n

will exchange experiences and experiences related to the fight against financial crimes, especially against money laundering and the fight against terrorist financing, this agreement will enhance and strengthen the measures and plans to prevent all financial crimes that occur in both countries” said in a statement issued by the government of Somalia.<\/p>\n

The agencies of the two countries also agreed that they will freely exchange important information and data, in accordance with the principles of information exchange between financial and international intelligence agencies.<\/p>\n

“The Financial Intelligence Center (FIC) and the Financial Intelligence Agency of the Republic of Turkey are building their capacity and participating in joint training programs, workshops,and other efforts to build the capacity and develop the skills of the intelligence agencies of the two countries” said the statement issued by the government of Somalia.<\/p>\n

The signing of this agreement was attended by the Somali ambassador to Turkey Fathudin Ali Mohamed, the director of the financial reporting center Amina Mohamed Ali and the director of the Turkish financial intelligence agency, Mr. Hassan KEYMAK.<\/p>\n
