Three of Puntland’s districts, Garowe, which is the capital of Puntland, Dangorayo and Godobjiran, are holding local council elections today in which different parties are competing.<\/p>\n

This election, which was already called for by the security disturbances that happened in Garowe city last year, and in which a lot of blood was shed, was held today on a large scale in the three districts.<\/p>\n

The Puntland administration said that the concerns of some of the Puntland forces, who recently said that they are against the holding of this election, have been resolved.<\/p>\n

More than 60,000 voters are participating in the election, which started at six in the morning, where people lined up to cast their votes.<\/p>\n

Eight political parties are competing in this election, and it is highly predicted that the Kaah party headed by President Deni will get the most votes, according to how they are campaigning in the election.<\/p>\n

Some of the opposition parties are led by members of President Deni’s cabinet.<\/p>\n

The election is the end of the local council elections in Puntland, which were held in more than 30 districts.<\/p>\n
