The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamse Abdi Barre, had a meeting today with the new Ambassador of the United States of America to Somalia, Richard H. Riley, and they discussed several issues concerning the two governments.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Hamse and Ambassador Richard discussed the interests of the two countries and how to strengthen the relationship and cooperation between Somalia and the United States.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister first briefed the US Ambassador to Somalia on the general political situation of the National Security Government, especially in the areas of politics, security, economy, social affairs, and the progress made in the past two years.<\/p>\n

“Mr. Hamsa said that the Government is carrying out the National Transformation Plan, which is based on activities that are important to the Government, such as strengthening good governance, developing the country’s economy and improving social affairs, with a clear role for businessmen. and Somali investors in a different way than before,” said a news release from the Office of Prime Minister Hamse.<\/p>\n

He also shared with Prime Minister Hamse the US ambassador Richard H. Riley that the government of Somalia will never allow taking part of Somali land, and he has declared that Somalia will never accept the illegal agreement between Ethiopia and Somaliland.<\/p>\n

The US Ambassador to Somalia praised the successive achievements of the Somali government in the fields of politics, security, economy and society, and congratulated the Somali government for becoming a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in 2025-2026.<\/p>\n

Finally, Ambassador Richard H. Riley also said that the US government will continue to support Somalia, and he noted that American companies are very interested in investing in Somalia.<\/p>\n
