The president of the Puntland state, Said Abdullahi Deni, described the decision of the Somali government to clean up the school cemetery as a bad move.<\/p>\n

President Deni, who confronted the Puntland parliament today, called for the decision to be reconsidered and the community encouraged. He said that it is a difficult time and people are facing life circumstances.<\/p>\n

Deni said that he is aware that there is no land requirement for Somalia to clear graves. He said that the government of Somalia is selling the government offices, due to necessity.<\/p>\n

“We know that the government centers and the government camps are said to be ‘necessary’ and they are being sold, but the graves that are not necessary are being swept away, these are issues that cannot be dealt with,” said Said Deni.<\/p>\n

The President of Puntland has called on President Hassan Sheikh to take care of the community and reverse the decisions made by the government, while respecting the rich days of Arafa.<\/p>\n

President Deni’s statement coincided with the Somali government temporarily stopping people from removing their bodies from the Police School cemetery, where more than 10,000 people are buried.<\/p>\n
