The Minister of Transport and Logistics of the Ethiopian government, Alemu Sime, today presented to the Parliament of his country the agreement that Ethiopia entered into with Somaliland.<\/p>\n

Alemu Sime told the MPs that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ethiopia and Somaliland on January 01 is a real agreement to help Ethiopia access the sea route.<\/p>\n

“This will make Ethiopia’s desire to have a sea route, which will bring about a fundamental change in logistics performance and new cooperation,” said the Ethiopian Minister of Transport.<\/p>\n

It was a few days ago when the Institute of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia hosted the 2nd Red Sea Dialogue, which took place in Addis Ababa, and its theme was the need for Regional Cooperation in the Red Sea.<\/p>\n

The chief executive of the Ethiopian Foreign Affairs Institute, Jafar Bedru, who spoke to the media, spoke about the importance of Ethiopia to the Red Sea region, and said that Ethiopia will never give up its will to the Red Sea.<\/p>\n

“Ethiopia and the Red Sea have historical ties. Ethiopia has always been in a historical struggle on the Red Sea, and it is a matter that depends on its existence. Our neighboring countries are determined to remove our ambitions from the Red Sea,” said Jafar Bedru.<\/p>\n

Jafar Bedru continued to accuse what he called Ethiopia’s historical enemies, of conspiring to exclude Ethiopia from the talks on the Red Sea.<\/p>\n

However, Ethiopia wants to implement the agreement it signed with the Somaliland administration on the first of January this year, which is about Ethiopia getting part of the Red Sea.<\/p>\n
