Senator Abdirahman Faroole, the former president of Puntland, accused President Hassan Sheikh of changing the Somali constitution.<\/p>\n

Senator Faroole, who gave an interview to BBC Somali, warned President Hassan Sheikh to continue with what he called the steps to take control of the Somali government structure.<\/p>\n

Faroole pointed out the members of the parliament and said that they want a position in the federal government, they are working to change the country’s constitution.<\/p>\n

He said that the responsibility arising from the amendment of the constitution will be taken by the two houses of the parliament.<\/p>\n

Abdirahman Faroole’s speech comes at a time when the parliament is going to vote for the amendment of the constitution tomorrow.<\/p>\n

The committee in charge of this process distributed the amended version of the constitution to the parliament on Thursday.<\/p>\n

President Hassan Sheikh has already insisted that the constitution be amended, in order to pass the election agreement reached by the National Consultative Council, even though Puntland was absent.<\/p>\n
