Non-governmental organizations in Morocco have called on their government to intervene and prevent the death sentence handed down to six Moroccans.<\/p>\n

In a joint statement, they said that they were aware of a verdict issued by the Puntland military court on March 2, which sentenced six Moroccans to death. accused them of belonging to the Daesh group.<\/p>\n

They added that some of the defendants said that they came to look for work, and that they did not know the purpose of recruiting those people to Daesh.<\/p>\n

Their lawyer confirmed that they want to go back to Morocco, and said that they were misled by the Daesh extremist group.<\/p>\n

Moroccan organizations, including the Moroccan Coalition against the Death Penalty (CMCPM), the Association of Justice of the Court of Justice and the Network of Lawyers Against the Death Penalty, have condemned the death sentence imposed on Moroccans, saying that against the rule imposed by Puntland on Moroccan citizens.<\/p>\n

They called on the Moroccan authorities to take immediate steps to save the lives of their citizens and return them to their country.<\/p>\n
