The Jubbaland military court has sat for the first hearing of the case of Chief Adan Mohamed Gedi, who is said to be a member of the Al-Shabaab group.<\/p>\n

Adan Mohamed Gedi, a 44-year-old member of Al-Shabaab, was captured by the Jubbaland army while fighting for the Al-Shabaab group, according to the Jubbaland military court.<\/p>\n

Ugas Adan Mohamed who spoke before the court admitted that he was a member of the Al-Shabaab group and used to operate around Yoontoy area.<\/p>\n

“I am not an Al-Shabaab man, I have not been to Yoontoy Road or that area. He was a wild man who was a herdsman who was protecting his property with those men, and then it was difficult for me,” said Ugas Adan who spoke before the Jubbaland military court.<\/p>\n

This man was captured by the army while injured in 2021, when he was the leader of members of Al-Shabaab who wanted to attack a military base in Yoontoy area of \u200b\u200bLower Jubba region.<\/p>\n

Finally, Colonel Abdullahi Mohamud Ibrahim, the chairman of the Jubbaland military court, closed the court session, saying that the hearing of the case will continue and they will meet again.<\/p>\n
