As ATMIS prepares for Phase 3 of the drawdown, the focus is on strengthening Somalia’s military and ensuring a coherent approach to security and governance reform, which is critical to Somalia’s path to recovery and sustainable development. said the authorities.<\/p>\n

These discussions have come at a time when the Somali Armed Forces are doubting their ability to take over the responsibility of security in the country, while it is worth noting that the Al-Shabaab group has retaken some of the areas they were expelled from last year.<\/p>\n
