Officials from the Turkish government arrived in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, today, and were welcomed at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense of Somalia.<\/p>\n

The delegation of Turkish officials held a meeting with the Minister of Defense of the Government of Somalia Abduqadir Mohamed Noor and the Commander of the Somali Armed Forces Major General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhuddin at the Ministry of Defense.<\/p>\n

The delegation of Turkish officials included the Commanders of the Navy, Land and other officials of the Ministry of Defense of Turkey.<\/p>\n

In Somalia, the Commander of the Navy, Admiral Abdi Warsame, the Commander of the Land Forces, General Dayah Abdi Abdulle and other officers of the Somali Military were also present at the meeting.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the official’s trip to Mogadishu today is related to the construction and equipping of the Somali military forces and also to strengthen the recent agreement between the two countries of Somalia and Turkey on defense and economic cooperation.<\/p>\n

It was recently when the two governments of Somalia and Turkey signed a 10-year agreement on defense and economic cooperation, and the agreement was signed by the president of the federal government, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.<\/p>\n
