The Somali forces, the local residents and the authorities of Harardhere district, working together, attacked the Al-Shabaab in Farah Adan area, which is 7 km away from Harardhere district, and a heavy battle took place there.
The governor of Harardere district, Mohamed Yusuf, who himself participated in the battle, said that they attacked Al-Shabaab from several directions and killed a large number of Al-Shabaab, including foreigners.
The governor said that the fighting continued for several hours, confirming that they are now in the areas where the fighting took place.
The governor said that some government soldiers died in the operation. He pointed out that the two forces joined hands when the shooting ended.
He said that the Al-Shabaab had deployed more troops to the area of Farah Adan Sand, to attack the Harardhere district. but he said that the army that was fighting morally failed to defeat al-Shabaab.
