The administration of Hiran region in Hirshabeelle announced that 270,000 families were displaced by the floods that hit Baledweyne town at the beginning of this week.
The governor of Hiran region named Hirshabelle Abdullahi Ahmed Maalin Sufurow also said that the displaced people are facing difficult conditions in life.
Governor Sufurow called on the relief agencies and the SODMA agency to provide immediate assistance to the people of Baledweyne who were greatly affected by the floods.
He also said that his administration is carrying out the latest efforts to deal with the disasters caused by the floods in Baledweyne.
It has been confirmed that the flood that hit the town of Baledweyne killed 9 people.
