The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who gave an interview to Arab News, said that the violence between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas can be resolved through a political agreement.

“What is happening in Palestine, especially in Gaza, is a special case against all human values.” President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said.

President Hassan Sheikh said in his interview that there is an internationally accepted solution, which is two states, Palestine and Israel, living together in peace.

The mayor said that could happen. He questioned why the world did not work to implement the solution.

For more than a month, the Gaza Strip has been bombarded by Israel in retaliation for the unprecedented October 7 attack by Hamas in southern Israel, which killed 1,400 people, mostly civilians. 240 others were taken hostage.

The Israeli airstrikes, and subsequent ground operations, have killed more than 11,000, according to the Hamas-run health ministry, and displaced more than half of Gaza’s population.
