Officials held for corruption were sentenced by the Banadir Regional Court.

The Banadir regional court has sentenced 11 government officials who have been on trial for corruption crimes to prison and imprisonment.

The court sentenced some of them to long sentences of up to ten years, and also banned them from holding government jobs.

Here are the names of the convicted officials.

Abdullahi Mohamud Cosoble, the director of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Immigration and Nationality Agency, was found guilty of some of the crimes he was charged with, and the court sentenced him to one year in prison.

Omar Maallin Noor Ali, who was the deputy director of the foreign affairs department of the Somali Immigration and Nationality Agency, was sentenced to one year in prison.

Sabir Hassan Abdi Noor, the head of foreigner visa verification at the Immigration and Nationality Agency of the Somali government. He was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison.

Adan Mohamed Abdi, the manager of the immigration office, was acquitted of all the crimes he was accused of and has been reinstated.

Abdirahman Abdi Karim Ibarhim, who is absent, as the head of the foreigner licensing division of the legal department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. He was sentenced to 9 years in prison. He was stopped from working in any other government office.

Abdullahi Mohamed Ali – the director general of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the court acquitted him of the crimes he was accused of, and returned him to freedom.

Mohamed Adde Muqtar Abdirahman, the former director of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, was acquitted of the crimes he was accused of, and his freedom was restored.

Abdiwahid Muhsin Ibrahim, who is absent, and an employee of the foreigner’s clearance department of the legal department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, was acquitted of the crimes he was accused of.

Abubakar Mohamed Ali, the director of the land tax office of the Ministry of Finance at the Aden Adde airport branch, was sentenced to 8 years in prison. and was suspended from further government work.

Abdiqadir Abdi Sodal, the cashier of the central bank of the Aden Adde airport branch, and the manager of the central bank of the Mogadishu Aden Adde airport branch, the court acquitted him of the crimes he was accused of, and restored his freedom.

Mohamed Aden Abdullahi, the manager of the central bank of the Aden Adde airport branch, was sentenced to 8 months in prison.
