Ahmed Mohamed Islam Ahmed Madobe won for the third time today to become the president of Jubbaland regional administration for the next five years.
President Ahmed Madobe contested the election with two candidates namely Abukar Abdi Hassan and Faysal Mohamed Matan, and before the election started, Dr Abdi Hassan Hajiin resigned.
Ahmed Mohamed Islam Madobe, who was the favorite candidate for the election, got 55 votes, while Faisal Mohamed Matan got 16 votes, while Abukar Abdi Hassan got 4 votes, according to the chairman of the Jubbaland administration, Abdi Mohamed Abdirahman.
After that, the re-elected president of Jubbaland Ahmed Madobe made a speech when he was confirmed to have won the election. He thanked the Jubbaland Parliament for electing him.
