A press release from the Somali Police Command has strongly condemned the clash that took place yesterday in the city of Kismayo, the capital of Lower Jubba region, in which a police officer was killed.
It was also stated in the press that the Command is conducting further investigations related to how the confrontation took place in which the officer died, and that the law will be brought to justice against all those involved in the incident.
“The Somali police are always committed to maintaining the peace and safety of the community. Such actions will not be accepted by anyone who tries to harm the peace and security of the nation,” said a press release from the Somali Police Command.
This news from the Somali Police Command comes as yesterday in the city of Kismayo there was a clash between the Jubbaland Police and security forces for Senator Ilyas Gaboose who was one of the Jubbaland presidential candidates.
The federal government accused him of being behind Jubbaland President Ahmed Madobe who is expected to be re-elected after tomorrow’s election in Kismayo.
