Puntland has issued an official decree banning the services of the gambling company 1xBet and the use of private cards (Private Numbers) provided by telecommunication companies.
In this circular, it is said that the services of the 1xBet company are against the social behavior and the laws of Puntland, and therefore it is completely banned in all areas of that administration.
Also, telecommunications companies Golis, Somtel, and Amtel have been instructed to work quickly to implement the directives contained in this circular. They have been ordered to stop using cards known as Private Numbers, which are considered a security threat.
The Puntland presidency said in this decision that it is part of the effort to ensure the maintenance of social order, strengthening security, and compliance with the law.
It was recently when Puntland telecommunications companies said they had no power to stop 1XBET gambling, saying they could not control it.
The Social Affairs Committee of the Puntland Parliament has recently suggested that telecommunication companies be forced to remove gambling apps from the air.
