The MPs of the two houses of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, in a joint meeting held today at Villa Hargeisa in Mogadishu, approved the constitution of Organizations and Political Parties participating in the country’s elections.
The implementation of this law was approved by a majority vote of 177 delegates, and one member of parliament was silent, and no member of parliament objected, according to the chairman of the People’s Assembly, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur Madobe.
This new law indicates the rules and regulations that will guide the Organizations and Political Parties in the country to ensure that the Organizations and Political Parties work in an efficient manner in accordance with the Constitution of the country.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ali Yusuf Ali Xhosh, who was present at the meeting of the two councils, thanked the two councils for the action they have taken to establish the constitution of Organizations and Political Parties for the elections.
Last Saturday was when the members of the two Houses of the Somali Parliament passed the bill for the establishment of the independent commission for elections and boundaries, and this demand was opposed by the authorities of Jubbaland, Puntland and the opposition politicians who are against the federal government.
