The Minister of Information in Jubaland, Abdifitah Mohamed Mukhtar, responded strongly to the statement made yesterday by the Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamse Abdi Barre, who said that the President of Jubaland, Ahmed Madobe, does not have the right to hold an election.
“The prime minister must get himself back together. I remember when he was arguing that Jubaland is independent in its elections, while today he is arguing that Jubaland’s elections are not legal,” said Jubbaland Information Minister Abdifitah Mukhtar to the BBC.
The Minister of Information of Jubaland argued that this country is a federal state and every regional government is independent in its political and electoral matters. after the last meeting of the Forum
“The national consultation meeting that we participated in was not satisfied with Jubaland, and it boycotted the meeting,” said Abdifitah.
Jubaland’s Minister of Information has insisted that they will never allow an “extended” election under the Jubaland constitution.
The Prime Minister’s speech directly brought out the bad relationship between Jubbaland and the central government, and Jubaland is conducting the election process which the government is refusing to do.
