A delegation led by Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister Aden Farah has arrived in Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland, and the delegation is accompanied by the President of the Somali Region, Mustafa Muhammad Omar.
This high delegation from the Ethiopian government came to Somaliland to attend the funeral of the former president of Somaliland, Ahmed Mohamed Mohamud Silanyo, who passed away on Friday in Hargeisa.
After the funeral of the President of Somaliland, the delegation met with President Muse Bihi Abdi and senior officials of the Somaliland government.
Ethiopia is one of the countries that have very close relations with Somaliland, and the relationship between the two sides has strengthened after the maritime understanding signed by both sides at the beginning of this year 2024.
The Somali government has already turned away a plane carrying the commander-in-chief of the Ethiopian army and other officials.
Many people believe that the arrival of this delegation reflects the increase in bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Somaliland.
