MP Ahmed Isman Ibrahim (Daqare), who was the deputy minister of education, heritage and higher education of the Somali government, has announced that he has resigned from his position. He is the second minister from Jubbaland to resign from the government of Somalia.
In a statement issued by the MP, he said, “It is evident that the leadership of the Somali government has deliberately taken a path that has not been appreciated before.
The former minister deplored the separation and the problems he said, the administrations of SSC, Puntland and Jubbaland, accusing the government of leading political chaos and power conflicts.
“I am very sorry that the society I represented was removed from Somaliness like SSC, one that worked to destroy it, and when it failed it was eaten like Puntland, and one that is now being trampled on its ruins like Jubbaland and it is being worked on indiscriminately to lead to political confusion and coup d’état,” said the MP.
“I am convinced that the government is engaged in shedding blood in Jubbaland and starting a civil war, as it wants to promote its perverted interests which are known to all, I have decided after consulting my conscience to resign from the post of Deputy Minister. Ministry of Education, Heritage and Higher Education,” the MP added.
The resignation of these two ministers comes as the political conflict between the government of Somalia and the Jubbaland administration worsens, as the country’s election process has been estranged.
