Egypt’s President Abdifatah Al-Sisi has once again proposed a two-day ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, so that Israel and Hamas can exchange prisoners.
The Egyptian president also noted that the negotiations will continue for the next ten days in order to complete the steps to achieve a full ceasefire and to deliver aid to Gaza.
“We declare that our brothers in the Gaza Strip are facing a very difficult siege, which has reached the level of severe hunger, and it is important that aid goes there as soon as possible,” said President Abdifatah al-Sisi.
This statement from the president of Egypt comes as it is expected to resume the ceasefire talks between Hamas and Israel.
However, the fighting between Israel and the Palestinian forces of Hamas, which began in October last year, has claimed the lives of more than 42,924 people.
